It was Richard Hamilton who suggested to the ICA that they should invite a number of leading British artists to make screenprints at Chris Prater’s Kelpra Studio.

Hamilton selected the contributors, twenty-four in all, mainly from the younger generation of Pop or abstract artists. Although many have never produced a screenprint again, some including Patrick Caulfield, R B Kitaj and Joe Tilson took to the medium with a vengeance
